Clay Art Center Celebrates at Annual Benefit on October 17th, 2019

Standard Ceramic and the Turnbull Family to be Recognized.   For nearly a lifetime, Clay Art Center in Port Chester, New York has promoted the benefits of art education through the hands-on medium of clay.  Each fall, since 2007, students, instructors, administrators, board members, and contributors pause to celebrate the history and accomplishments of this eminent arts organization at its annual benefit.  This year’s event, Hand in Hand, will take place on Thursday, October 17 at the Willow Ridge Country Club in Harrison and will recognize another lifetime of work – that of Standard Ceramic’s Turnbull family.   For three generations, the Turnbull family of Pittsburgh has operated and grown Standard Ceramic Supply Company, creating a business that stands side-by-side with artists and educators in the clay community.  The Turnbulls are pleased to support Clay Art Center in its annual fundraising event.     Over the years, Clay Art Center has touched the lives of thousands of people, each expanding outward with a new appreciation of beauty and a hunger to create.  This community of clay artists is a dynamic group of individuals, often working in solitary focus, somet...

The surface of clay is ideal for drawing, impressing, incising, and painting. The result produces a permanent, frozen moment in time.  Sue's woodcut block prints and small hand formed cat 3D sculptures in terra...
